Model United Nations at UIS is an award-winning program that trains students for the annual National Model United Nations conference in NYC, where students from throughout the world come together to practice diplomacy and work to create solutions for real-world problems. At the conference, students participate in simulations of real UN committees, discussing the same topics as the UN. Students train through lectures, experiential learning, and in-class research. This allows them to gain both life-long skills, as well as a stronger understanding of our increasingly globalized world. Each year we receive a new country, and in class, students research both this assigned country, as well as one that they have chosen themselves. Gifts in the past have helped support the continuation of the program by allowing it to grow and continue to provide an amazing opportunity and assist in covering costs associated with the program. Any gift will help ensure the continued growth of the program.
