We are raising funds to support the UIS Cares Food Pantry at the University of Illinois Springfield. The pantry provides free, accessible food and essential personal care items to UIS students experiencing food insecurity. Donations will be used to purchase nutritious food, hygiene products, and other high-need essentials to ensure the pantry remains consistently stocked and responsive to student demand.
Food insecurity is a significant barrier to student success. When students are worried about where their next meal is coming from, their academic performance, mental health, and overall well-being are negatively affected. The UIS Cares Food Pantry helps remove that barrier by providing reliable access to basic necessities. This project strengthens the UIS community by promoting student retention, academic focus, and overall wellness. It ensures that students can concentrate on coursework, internships, and campus involvement rather than financial stress. Supporting the pantry also reinforces a culture of care and mutual responsibility on campus, demonstrating that UIS prioritizes student well-being both inside and outside the classroom.
Every gift — no matter the size — directly supports UIS students facing food insecurity. Because the UIS Cares Food Pantry purchases items in bulk and prioritizes high-need essentials, even small contributions have meaningful impact.
